Parish Update – June 7, 2020

Parish Update
Weekend of June 7, 2020
Parish News
Effective July 1st our beloved Father Tom will become the pastor of Our Lady of Victory in Limon, St. Mary in Flagler, and St. Anthony in Hugo.  We have been blessed to have Father Tom serving our parish for the last 3 years.  We are sad to lose him and the joy he brings to everything he does, but know he is ready for his next challenge.  He will be a wonderful pastor.  There will be a box in the gathering space where you can leave notes or cards for Father Tom.
Father Erin Kochivar will be our new parochial vicar.  We will be sharing more information about him in the coming weeks.
Mass Updates/Reminders
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work out the most effective ways to follow the Douglas County guidelines required for Mass!  It is a work in process. We will continue to make changes and improvements as we go.
Starting immediately we ask everyone attending Mass to enter through the set of doors between Brownstein and the church, regardless of the location where you are attending Mass. (We will no longer be using the dumpster doors.) Once you enter the building you will check in at the table for the location where you have made your reservation. You do not need to bring a printed ticket with you.
Please keep registering for every Mass that you attend.  This will ensure you have a spot in Mass and will help us to comply with the Douglas County rules that allow us to have Mass. You can access Mass registration on our website, or by clicking on the box below.  Mass registrations will be shut down an hour before Mass begins to allow us to print out our check in lists.
Please arrive for Mass at least 15 minutes early.  The doors will be locked at the commencement of Mass.  Our volunteers will also be attending Mass and will be unable to wait at the doors.
Mass volunteers, please make a reservation for the Mass you will be serving at. When you arrive at Mass, check in at the Sacristy.
We are excited to welcome the newly ordained Father Tim back to Ave Maria this Sunday, June 7th.  He will be celebrating both the 9:00 am and 11:00 am Masses.
We will be discontinuing the Sunday 7:00 pm Mass due to low attendance.
Finally, if you feel uncomfortable attending Mass, your Mass obligation remains suspended. We will continue to livestream the Mass every day at 9:00 am.
We are dependent upon volunteers to keep our Masses going.  If you are comfortable, please consider serving our parish in one of the following roles:
  • Ushers to welcome people and check them in.
  • Lectors to proclaim the Word of God during Mass.
  • Audio/visual technicians to run the sound and camera.
  • Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to assist with the distribution of the Eucharist.
If you would like to volunteer, please click on the appropriate button below and join that flocknote group.  We will then contact with you more information.
Your generous donations allow our parish to continue to operate.  We will not be passing the baskets at Mass due to health concerns.  Instead, we ask that you put your donations in the marked boxes in our gathering space or Brownstein. Additionally, online giving is available on our website or by clicking on the button below.  Thank you!
Word on Fire
We are happy to announce that we have purchased a subscription to Word on Fire for our parish.  Word on Fire has many different resources and movies that will be available to you through our subscription.
